umm I am starting to see my photos on facebook applications and icons etc...what can i do? i don't want to make my stuff un-downloadable..do i really need to worry about it?
WaterMarks and low Res small file size Jpeg images is about the only way to stop it, if they can't down load anything but a thumb nail size version, or a very low res version that won't print well, then chances are they won't try to use it.. But even so it's still won't stop jerks posting them as theirs on the net.. just means that's as far as it can go.
In 2008 ... its a HUGE Problem to make AUTHOR WORK ... and ... worse than that ... is to be a Author produce really good work like many of your Photos ... and ... Prevent the "USE & ABUSE" unauthorized ....
i've been reading all those comments and ... its sad ... and i totally share you concern in this matter .... not only you ... but many, many people have the same problem ... here is an interesting link that may help u in some way .... [link]
is from ... she has the same problem ...
GOOD LUCK ... and ... keep doing GREAT Photos ... cya
I think you should just watermark your pictures from now on it is a very good way to prevent anyone from stealing them or using them without your permission, if you do not watermark them you will keep seeing them in sites.... A big example of this was Lara Jade her user is larafarie she has had past problems with the same thing and I even found a girl in hi5 Using lara jades pictures as her own and telling people she had taken the shots herself... so yeah be careful.
I agree with the others, you could possibly add a watermark to your pictures! It doesn't have to be anything too big, just something that people will notice.
I found your d.a via the random button... and its a shame that your work is being stolen. Its beautiful
There's a site i use called tineye, its a database of images, right click on an image and it'll open a new page telling you where that file is on the web. Its great for blogs and places like that where people just steal or copy the image straight from d.a
The website is here, you do need to register but its free, and well worth it - [link]
Otherwise the only other way is to watermark and copyright... its a shame that it comes to that really.
wow, that is NOT GOOD...Please do something cos that devalues your work...if you never got paid for it, its unacceptable...contact the people using the photos and then contact a lawyer...Goodluck!!!!!!!!!
